Maxibor has recently completed a 352m twin crossing for Livingstone Shire Council at Causeway Lake where it flows into the sea at picturesque Yeppoon near Rockhampton in Queensland. The bores were drilled through a combination of soft sandy top soil and hard rock underneath to a maximum depth of 15m under the lake.

We installed Iplex Millennium pipe made from Qenos Alkadyne HCR193B, Australia’s first PE pipe that meets the PE100 HSCR specifications. It has been specially developed to stop pipe cracking, thereby substantially increasing the life of the pipe. This was the first project on which the Qenos pipe has been used.

The works were competed with a Vermeer 100/120, one on the many rigs in our HDD fleet capable of completing more difficult bores of this nature. Early starts and late finishes accelerated the completion of both bores within the scheduled time of 25 days, much to the satisfaction of our all involved.
